Holy Cross Church

Holy Cross Church is a modern parish church in Frankfurt-Bornheim built with reinforced concrete and steel framing topped with flat saddle roofs. The building displays clean lines and simple proportions typical of contemporary religious architecture of its era.

Martin Weber designed and completed the church in August 1929 as an expansion of the St. Josef parish. It was built to serve the growing population settling in the Bornheim district at that time.

The church serves today as a center for Christian meditation and spirituality, welcoming people of different faiths to meditative practices. Visitors can spend time in quiet contemplation within its peaceful interior.

The church is centrally located with good access to Frankfurt's public transportation system via nearby tram and bus lines. Visitors can easily arrive by public transport or walk through the residential neighborhood to reach it.

A 1964 organ built by Gebr. Späth Orgelbau continues to define the sound within the church and has undergone multiple refinements since its installation. This instrument makes the space particularly suited for church music and concert performances.
