Fürstlich Drehna, Rural village in Luckau, Germany
Fürstlich Drehna is a small village and Ortsteil of Luckau, in the state of Brandenburg in Germany, sitting on a low plateau surrounded by farmland and patches of woodland. The settlement is compact, with a church, a handful of residential streets, and open fields running close to the edge of the built area.
The settlement was founded in 1477 under a different name and was renamed in 1807 when a local count granted it a princely title, which explains the word Fürstlich in its name today. That change in status shaped how the village was known throughout the wider region from then on.
The church at the village center still shows traces of medieval stonework beneath later additions and rebuilds. The old gravestones surrounding it carry the names of families who shaped this place across many generations.
The village is reachable by the regional road L56, which gives direct access from the surrounding area. As a small rural settlement, visitors should expect few services on site and plan accordingly before arriving.
A brewery established in 1745 still operates in the village, making it one of the oldest continuously running enterprises in the area. It continues to follow traditional methods, which is rare to find in a settlement of this size.
