Kocatepe-Moschee, Ottoman mosque in Ingolstadt, Germany.
Kocatepe Mosque is a place of worship featuring a classical domed structure with two minarets located on Manisa Street in northwest Ingolstadt. The multi-level building houses the prayer room along with a grocery store, restaurant, library, and various educational spaces.
The Turkish-Islamic Community of Ingolstadt built this mosque in 2008, completing a project that had been planned for several years. The community itself began in 1987 as a small group.
The mosque serves as a gathering place for the Muslim community and acts as a center for religious practice and social connection. People of various backgrounds meet here to pray and spend time together.
The complex is well-located in the northwest of the city and is accessible by public transport. It is advisable to inquire ahead about visiting the prayer room and what dress code may apply.
The building was designed with input from an architect from Manisa, Ingolstadt's twin city. This brought authentic Turkish building elements into the design.
