Kloster Adelberg, Premonstratensian monastery in Adelberg, Germany

The monastery complex includes the Ulrich Chapel, which contains a preserved high altar and late Gothic paintings from the 16th century.

Founded in 1178 by Volknand von Staufen, the monastery received support from Emperor Frederick Barbarossa and became one of the wealthiest religious institutions in Württemberg.

The Ulrich Chapel houses medieval frescoes and altar pieces, including a remarkable winged altar created by the Ulm School of artists.

Guided tours of the monastery grounds and Ulrich Chapel operate regularly, with additional group visits available outside standard opening hours.

Between 1188 and 1189, Philip of Swabia, who later became German king, received his education within the monastery walls.
