Großes Palais

Großes Palais is a three-story building on Bernhardstraße with a richly articulated French Neo-Renaissance facade. Inside, marble support columns stand in the foyer, an ornate staircase leads upward, and elaborate stucco decorations cover nearly every wall and ceiling.

The building was constructed between 1821 and 1823 as a residence for Duchess Luise Eleonore. The middle of the 19th century brought extensive renovations that shaped its current form.

The palace displays French Neo-Renaissance architecture with ornate stucco decorations covering walls and ceilings throughout the interior. This design shapes the visitor's experience and connects the space to 19th-century taste and craftsmanship.

The building currently houses a health center with medical practices and modern glass installations inside. Visitors should know that access may be limited due to its current function as a medical facility.

The building survived World War II without damage and served as the district administrative office from 1952 to 1999. After that period, it found new purpose as a health center.
