Gutshaus Rumpshagen

Gutshaus Rumpshagen is a manor house in Ankershagen featuring four pilasters supporting a triangular pediment as its main architectural elements. Coats of arms adorn both the courtyard-facing side and the park-facing side of the building.

The building was constructed in the first half of the 18th century for Friedrich Ernst von Voss, establishing it as a significant estate of that era. The von Gundlach family later acquired the property and retained ownership until 1945.

The interior rooms display Rococo stucco work, particularly in spaces facing the park, reflecting the refined taste of those who lived here. These decorative details show how the family expressed their sophistication through the design of their spaces.

The building underwent major restoration work in the 2000s and returned to private ownership following its previous use as municipal housing and administrative offices. The adjacent park provides good views of the exterior from different angles.

The stucco work contains glass powder mixed into its composition, creating a connection to the von Gundlach family's background. This family operated multiple glassworks in the region and incorporated this distinctive material into their decorative elements.
