The museum traces its origins to 1838 when Vicar Joseph Hemmerlein contributed his art collection, leading to its establishment in Michaelsberg Abbey.

Visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday through Sunday between 10 AM and 5 PM, with regular admission priced at 8 euros for adults.
The museum contains a nature cabinet from the Age of Enlightenment, featuring an ornithological hall with classical furnishings and preserved animal specimens.
