St. Laurentius, Catholic parish church in Wismar, Germany
St. Laurentius stands with its 37-meter tower at the southeastern edge of Wismar's historic old town, featuring brick construction in Romanesque Revival style with arcading and pilasters.
The church opened on October 12, 1902, becoming the fifth post-reformation Catholic church in Mecklenburg and received its first bells from Countess Mary von Bothmer in 1904.
Three round-arched windows created by A. Annys in 1948 depict the Trinity and illustrate the significance of sacraments through detailed stained glass work.
The church contains a Marian chapel established in 1979 that serves as a meditation space, featuring a statue of Mary from 1450 encircled by a corona of rays.
The church houses a large organ constructed by Schuke from Potsdam between 1991 and 1992, incorporating nineteen registers across two manuals using copper, tin, and wooden pipes.
