Glörtalsperre

The Glörtalsperre is a reservoir in North Rhine-Westphalia that spans three municipalities and is defined by its solid concrete dam structure. Two distinctive towers rise above the water surface and serve as viewing points, while a network of walking trails makes the area accessible.

The dam was built in 1904 and represented an engineering achievement of its era. It supplied water to industry along the Ruhr and Lippe rivers and helped shape the region's development.

The path around the water is well marked and can be walked in about an hour. The trails have varying slopes, so good footwear is helpful.
