Haseder Busch, Nature reserve in Giesen, Germany

Haseder Busch is a protected nature reserve in Giesen featuring ancient hardwood forests, lake areas, and wetland zones along the river landscape. The different habitats provide space for diverse animal and plant life.

This area was protected as a nature reserve in 1974 and has been maintained as an important habitat since then. The designation was made to preserve the typical floodplain forest vegetation and the animal species living within it.

The forest serves as a space for people to observe and explore nature on foot, with its lakes and reed areas allowing visitors to watch birds and wildlife up close.

The reserve lies between Hasede and the Hildesheim harbour industrial estate on the Stichkanal, with the Innerste crossing it; the southern edge directly adjoins the Mastberg und Innersteaue reserve. It forms the "Wasserwelt" section of the Kleeblatt nature experience area, which links it with the Mastberg und Innersteaue, Lange Dreisch und Osterberg and Giesener Teiche reserves.

The reserve forms the "Wasserwelt" (water world) section of the Naturerlebnisgebiet Kleeblatt, a nature experience area north of Hildesheim that links four reserves between the Osterberg and the Innerste. South of the river, several man-made ponds and their reed beds lie within the protected area.
