Gut Groß-Engershausen

The manor house stands on an island measuring 80 by 50 meters, connected to the mainland by a stone arch bridge crossing a moat.

Built around 1770, the estate changed ownership from the von Schloen family to the von Berner family in 1671, before being acquired by the von Spiegel family in 1838.

The timber-framed building with its hipped roof represents traditional North Rhine-Westphalian architectural design and construction techniques from the 18th century.

The property remains in private ownership of the von Spiegel family and requires advance arrangements for any potential visits to the grounds.

A small mausoleum stands north of the main building, while numerous agricultural structures surround the moat, maintaining their original functions.
