Hagenbucher, Architectural structure in Heilbronn, Germany
The Hagenbucher building stands on a Neckar island and integrates modern glass and steel structures with the original brick warehouse design. The site houses a science center with interactive exhibits and a Science Dome featuring a rotating auditorium and dome screen.
The structure began as a brick warehouse in 1936 serving industrial purposes. It underwent major transformation starting in 2007 after an architectural competition was won by studioinges.
The building now functions as part of the experimenta science center, where visitors engage with interactive exhibits on a wide range of scientific topics. The site reflects how an old industrial area has transformed into a place for learning and discovery.
The site is accessible by pedestrian bridges and allows comfortable exploration of both interior and exterior spaces. The exhibits and Science Dome are arranged so visitors can move through at their own pace and choose their own route.
The Science Dome features an auditorium that rotates 180 degrees, changing its orientation to the projection surface. This rotating feature allows viewers to experience the same scientific content from completely different perspectives.
