Gut Rixdorf, Cultural heritage monument in Lebrade, Germany.
Gut Rixdorf is an estate complex in Schleswig-Holstein with multiple buildings arranged around cobblestone pathways. The property includes residential structures, farm buildings, and a distinctive thatched gatehouse that marks the entrance to the ensemble.
The estate was managed by the von Brockdorff family from 1600 onward and underwent major renovations in the 1730s under architect Rudolph Matthias Dallin. After 1867 it came under Prussian control, then passed to the Counts of Westphalen zu Fürstenberg whose family has owned it since.
The estate's name reflects its noble past and serves as a focal point for village gatherings and celebrations. Local traditions like the May festivities bring neighbors together and keep historical customs alive in everyday community life.
The estate is located along the L53 road near Lebrade and is easy to access by car. Visitors should note that this is private property and access may be limited to exterior views from the surrounding areas.
The estate served as a local patrimonial court until 1867, settling disputes for the surrounding region. This judicial function made it much more than a farm, positioning it as a center of authority and justice in the countryside.
