Schloss Tiengen

Schloss Tiengen is a castle complex in Waldshut-Tiengen, Germany, composed of the Old Castle featuring a defensive tower and the New Castle positioned above the historic town center. The two structures together create a varied architectural ensemble that rises from the hillside overlooking the streets below.

The castle originates from the 11th century when it served the Krenkingen noble family as a defensive stronghold. A major reconstruction took place after damage sustained during the 1499 conflict with Switzerland, which fundamentally shaped the structure we see today.
