Hausstein

Hausstein is a 917 meter high peak in the Bavarian Forest region with granite and gneiss rock formations on its slopes. The mountain features several walking trails and a ski center on its western side.

The area was developed for winter sports over time, with two ski lifts installed on the western side. This infrastructure made the mountain a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders.

The mountain is part of the GEHsundheitsweg network, which guides walkers on various routes through the landscape. Locals use these paths regularly to spend time in nature and with friends.

The mountain is accessible via marked hiking trails at different difficulty levels. In winter, visitors can use the ski facility, though warm clothing and sturdy footwear are important for any season.

A medical clinic is located on the southern slope of the mountain, offering healthcare with mountain views. This unusual combination of medical care and alpine setting serves patients seeking treatment in a natural environment.
