Historischer Friseursalon Altenburg, Historic barber shop in Altenburg, Germany
The historic barber shop features complete furnishings from the 1920s, including marble dressing tables, mirrors, barber chairs, and hair cutting machines.
The building, first constructed in 1537, underwent baroque-style facade modifications and an additional floor during the 18th or 19th century.
The salon operated as a combined men's and women's hairdressing establishment from 1926 until 1966, when owner Arthur Grosse retired from the profession.
Located at Pauritzer Strasse 2 in Altenburg, the salon opens its doors to visitors who can experience an authentic 1920s hairdressing environment.
The front room served male customers while female clients waited in the back room with drying racks, connected by a pulley system for hair cutting machines.
