The estate belonged to the von Bernstorff family from the 13th century until 1945, when Hermann von Bernsdorff was the last resident before expropriation.
The northeastern gable contains a relief depicting Henry the Lion with the inscription 'AD HENRICUS LEO 1167', representing noble lineage connections.
Following extensive restoration works completed in 2014, the manor house now serves the community as a functioning hospice facility.
A 1359 granite memorial stone near the manor displays the oldest known Bernstorff coat of arms and depicts a praying knight with Latin inscriptions.
