Hotel Bellevue, Dresden, hotel in Dresden
Hotel Bellevue Dresden is a hotel on Grosse Meissner Street in Dresden's Neustadt district, situated on the bank of the Elbe river with a direct view across the water to the old town. The building has rooms with separate sleeping and living areas, an indoor pool, a fitness area, and conference facilities.
The building was constructed in the 1980s as an Interhotel, a state-run hotel chain in East Germany designed to host foreign visitors and official guests. After reunification it was renovated and has since operated as a privately run city hotel.
The hotel stands on the Elbe riverbank, directly facing the old town, and from the riverside terrace you can see the Dresden skyline with the Frauenkirche and Hofkirche in the background. This view is the same one that has drawn visitors to this stretch of the river for centuries.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Augustus Bridge, which leads directly into the old town and its main landmarks. Guests who want to visit the historic center can do so on foot without needing to use public transport at all.
Part of the hotel incorporates an 18th-century town palace that is considered the only surviving example of that era in Dresden's Neustadt. This older section is barely visible from the outside today, but it forms part of the building's actual structure.
