Hirschhörnlkopf

Hirschhörnlkopf is a 1514-meter summit in the Bavarian Prealps with forest trails ascending through wooded sections before opening to grassy slopes near the top. The path transitions from sheltered woodland to exposed terrain with panoramic views.

The route to this summit became part of the traditional Bavarian Alpine network during the expansion of mountain tourism in the 19th century. The established paths incorporated this peak into the region's hiking system.

The approach from Jachenau involves approximately 725 meters of elevation gain over about 5 kilometers, requiring roughly 2 hours of hiking time. Marked trails guide the way throughout, and sturdy footwear with decent fitness is recommended.
