Jochberg

The Jochberg mountain rises 1565 meters between Lake Kochel and Lake Walchensee, featuring grass slopes on its south face and steep cliffs on the north.

The German Alpine Association Section Tutzing renovated the main trail to Jochberg's summit in 2022 to address substantial erosion problems affecting the path.

The mountain serves as a meeting point for hikers from Munich and surrounding areas who gather to experience the Bavarian Alpine landscape throughout the year.

Visitors can reach the starting point at Kesselberghöhe by taking regional train RB 66 from Munich to Kochel, followed by bus line 9608 to Kesselberg Passhöhe.

From the summit, observers can spot the Munich Olympiaturm over 60 kilometers away to the north on days with clear visibility conditions.
