The monastery complex includes a church, a cloister with pointed arch windows, and multiple functional spaces spread across different levels.
Count Johannes II of Abensberg and Agnes von Lichtenstein founded the monastery on March 27, 1389, with papal approval from Boniface IX in 1390.
The monastery church displays architectural changes from Gothic to Baroque, with a high altar from 1717 and side altars created between 1715 and 1719.
The former monastery now functions as the Aventinum Cultural Center, hosting events, concerts, and housing educational facilities including an adult education center.
During renovations in 2003, workers discovered a fresco depicting the oldest known cityscape of Abensberg in the monastery's cloister.
