Augustinerchorherrenstift Neuwerk is a monastic complex in Halle with stone buildings arranged for religious life, communal gathering, and worship. Economic structures on the grounds once served as storage facilities and were used for agricultural purposes until the 1800s.
The monastery was founded in 1116 by Archbishop Adelgotus of Magdeburg and received its official charter in 1121. It then became an important spiritual and economic center serving the Halle region.
