Kloster Hedingen

The Hedingen monastery features baroque architectural elements, including a central church building with ornate decorations and detailed structural designs throughout its sections.

Founded in 1338 by Junker Ital Volkwin, the monastery functioned as a Dominican women's establishment until its dissolution between 1595 and 1597.

The monastery church now functions as a burial site for the Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family, containing numerous tombs and memorial markers of noble descent.

Located at the southern edge of Sigmaringen, the monastery complex includes multiple buildings connected by pathways and maintains regular visiting hours for the public.

The Marian Chapel displays a large baroque nativity scene during Christmas, which belongs to the Hohenzollern family and dates back approximately 250 years.
