Kunsthalle Schweinfurt, Contemporary art museum in Schweinfurt, Germany.
The Kunsthalle Schweinfurt is an art museum housed in a converted building with approximately 2,200 square meters of exhibition space. It displays artworks from the 1950s through the present day.
The building was originally a public swimming pool that opened in 1933. After a redesign, it reopened as an art museum in 2009.
The museum displays works from German art groups such as Quadriga, ZEN 49, and SPUR that shaped the local art scene from the mid-20th century onward. These artists and their creations remain connected to the region's identity and are shown here within their historical context.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours on Thursdays. The spaces are easily accessible and well suited for a day visit.
The exhibition space uses a former swimming hall with nine meters of height for art presentations. This unusual architecture creates a special setting when viewing the works.
