Country house J. C. Godeffroy, Neoclassical country house in Nienstedten, Germany.

The country house is a two-story structure with single-story side wings built in the neoclassical style, featuring sandstone columns at the entrance and rectangular forms on its facade. The building sits within landscaped grounds with pathways that lead through the surrounding park area.

Architect Christian Frederik Hansen designed this country house in 1789 for merchant Johan Cesar Godeffroy. Its construction marked the start of residential development along the Elbchaussee.

The entrance inscription 'Der Ruhe weisem Genuss' by theologian Peter Christian Steenvinkel reflects the values of Hamburg's merchant class in the late 18th century. You can read these words yourself and sense what peace and pleasure meant to those who lived here.

The property is located at Elbchaussee 499 and remains open for visitors year-round. Walking paths through Hirschpark are available for public use and make for a pleasant walk.

The interior preserves original stuccowork in the foyer and dining room with delicate floral patterns and reliefs dating from the time of construction. These fine details show the craftsmanship that went into the building.
