Langes Tannen

Langes Tannen is a sprawling estate covering about 26 hectares with forests, meadows, ponds, and a classical manor house featuring Ionic columns built in 1806. The property includes a museum barn, a café housed in a historic mill structure, and open grounds designed for walking and exploration.

Jacob Lange acquired the property in 1739 through marriage to a miller's widow, establishing ownership that remained in the family for generations. The estate passed through the family line until the early 1900s when ownership changed hands.

The museum barn hosts exhibitions, concerts, and readings that showcase regional art and crafts throughout the year. Visitors experience the site as an active cultural venue rather than just a historical location.

The estate offers easy walking paths through varied terrain including forests and open meadows, making it accessible for different activity levels. A café serves refreshments and homemade cakes from the historic mill building, providing a convenient spot to rest during your visit.

An octagonal mill structure from 1796 still stands on the grounds, a rare architectural relic from the property's milling past. This distinctive form is unusual and serves as a visual reminder of the site's working heritage.
