Rotes Kliff lighthouse

The brick lighthouse stands 13 meters tall on the cliff north of Kampen village, featuring an octagonal shape with a balcony and cylindrical lantern.

Built between 1912 and 1913, the Rotes Kliff Lighthouse protected ships from a sand bank near the Lister Tief channel until its deactivation in 1975.

The lighthouse represents maritime navigation heritage in Schleswig-Holstein, serving as a reminder of North Sea shipping traditions on Sylt Island.

The structure functions as a daymark without lighting facilities, situated at coordinates 54°57'56.5"N latitude and 8°20'16.1"E longitude near Lister Straße.

Before retirement in 1974, the lighthouse projected white light visible for 16 nautical miles, red for 12 miles, and green for 11 miles.
