Neue Welt, Historic farm estate on Leutfresserweg, Würzburg, Germany.
Neue Welt is a farm estate in Würzburg with residential and agricultural buildings arranged around a broad terrace overlooking Marienberg Fortress. The property sits elevated above the city and offers open views across the landscape from its setting.
The estate was founded between 1864 and 1866 by Johann Adam Wadenklee but never fully completed due to war. The original vision for the property could not be realized in its entirety.
From the early 1920s, painter Gertraud Rostosky opened the estate as a gathering place for artists, writers, and intellectuals seeking creative exchange. The place became known among cultural circles as a space where ideas were shared and artistic work flourished.
The estate sits about 30 minutes on foot from Würzburg's center and remains a private residence today. A memorial plaque marks its artistic heritage, but the grounds are not open to visitors.
During World War II, the estate served as emergency shelter for displaced people. Despite the heavy bombing of Würzburg, the property itself escaped significant damage due to its elevated location above the city.
