Musical Dome, Musical theater venue in Altstadt-Nord, Cologne, Germany
The Musical Dome features a blue dome-shaped roof illuminated at night, with a fiberglass and steel structure located along the Rhine promenade.
The theater opened in October 1996 after six months of construction on a former bus station site, initially designed as a temporary performance space.
The venue transformed into the Oper am Dom from 2012 to 2015, serving as the temporary home for the Cologne Opera during renovations.
The auditorium contains two levels accommodating 1,769 spectators, including six accessible seats, with tickets starting from 59.90 euros for performances.
In 2022, following renovations worth 21 million euros, the interior was redesigned to mirror a Parisian nightclub for the En-Suite production of Moulin Rouge.
