Neuffer, Industrial heritage site in Pirmasens, Germany.
Neuffer is a former shoe factory in Pirmasens comprising multiple buildings with a castle-like entrance structure. The complex now houses offices, medical facilities, and event spaces under the name Neuffer am Park.
The factory was founded in 1894 and quickly developed into a major production site. Under new ownership from 1926 onward, production expanded significantly.
The facade displays sculptures of deities Demeter, Aphrodite, and Hermes designed by architect Josef Uhl in 1919. These mythological figures symbolize commerce, beauty, and craftsmanship, shaping the building's visual identity to this day.
The location is easily accessible at Waldstrasse 18. As a mixed-use space with public functions, it welcomes visitors during standard business hours.
During World War II, the factory shifted to manufacturing and repairing military uniforms and boots. This transformation reveals how deeply the conflict reshaped the operations of peacetime businesses.
