Talheim Death Pit, Neolithic mass grave in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The excavation site contains skeletal remains of 34 individuals, including 16 children, nine adult males, and seven adult females, arranged in a 25-foot-long pit.

Archaeological findings from 1983 revealed this burial ground dating back to 5000 BC, marking one of the earliest documented cases of organized violence in Europe.

The remains belong to members of the Linear Pottery Culture, known for creating settlements and implementing early farming techniques across Central Europe.

The archaeological site provides researchers with physical evidence of trauma patterns, offering data about conflict resolution methods in prehistoric agricultural communities.

Analysis of the skeletal arrangement indicates the bodies were deposited without ceremonial practices, suggesting a rapid disposal following a violent confrontation.
