Palais Gise, City palace in Old Town, Munich, Germany.
Palais Gise is a four-story city palace located in Munich's Old Town at Prannerstraße 9 with an ornate Rococo facade. The building features elaborate stucco decorations and detailed architectural elements characteristic of the style.
The building was designed in the 18th century following French Rococo principles and became an important part of Munich's architectural heritage. Severe damage during World War II required complete interior restoration, which was finished in 1949.
The design by architect Carl Albert von Lespilliez in 1760 incorporates architectural elements from his mentor François de Cuvilliés in the late Rococo style.
The palace houses administrative offices and remains visible from the street as you walk through the Old Town. Its location on Prannerstraße 9 makes it easy to find while exploring Munich's Rococo architecture.
Friedrich August von Gise purchased the palace for 33,000 guilders in 1837, after which it belonged to the Arco family and later passed through various banks.
