Postheim, Residential district in Templin, Germany
Postheim is a residential district on the northwestern edge of Templin, situated along Lake Lübbesee. The area is surrounded by forests and lies about 1.5 kilometers from the town center.
The area was founded in 1906 as a retreat for Berlin postal workers and grew rapidly into an established settlement. By 1914, it had developed into 17 buildings housing 188 apartments.
The neighborhood features private gardens and recreation areas shaped by residents themselves. These spaces show how the community connects with nature and outdoor living.
The area offers several playgrounds, green spaces, and direct access to the lake for swimming and water activities. The flat terrain and good paths make exploring on foot or by bike easy and pleasant.
A former holiday hotel, now called Ahorn Seehotel, stands on the grounds as one of the region's largest sports and conference hotels. The building stands out for its expressionist architecture.
