Radebeuler Goldener Wagen

Radebeuler Goldener Wagen is a vineyard location with steep terraced slopes that rise steeply from west to east across the area. The site grows multiple grape varieties including some vines over 60 years old, alongside newer plantings of Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc.

The vineyard was first documented in 1401 and later became part of the royal Saxon wine production. The name Goldener Wagen appeared in written records starting in 1710.

The gate at the vineyard entrance was built in 1925 from red Meissen granite and features a partially gilded wagon as its central element. This structure has become a symbol of the place and reflects the craftsmanship valued in the region.

The location benefits from the Elbe River's cooling influence and offers pleasant conditions for visiting. The steep slopes require some effort to explore, but the paths are generally accessible and well-maintained.

Some of the grape vines here are over 60 years old, a testament to how long certain varieties can thrive in the same location. These older plants grow alongside newer varieties, showing how tradition and renewal coexist.
