Schloss Ebersberg, Medieval castle in Auenwald, Germany
The castle stands on a ridge above Ebersberg and Lippoldsweiler villages, featuring a cylindrical keep with a diameter of 9 meters and walls 3 meters thick.
Construction of the original castle began in the early 12th century for the Herren von Ebersberg family, with later baroque renovations completed between 1718 and 1719.
The castle includes Saint Michael's Chapel with its 1725 plaster ceiling, reflecting the religious significance of the structure through different periods.
The facility now operates as a self-catering accommodation with 64 beds, managed by the German Scout Association Saint Georg for youth programs and events.
The castle's keep represents one of the oldest remaining Staufer towers in Württemberg, with ring walls measuring 1.15 meters in thickness.
