Schloss Falkenegg, Château in Neuses, Coburg, Germany
The castle features a quadrangular tower, Romanesque portals, Gothic arches, and extends across multiple levels on its hillside location near Rodacher Street.
Count von Mendorff constructed the initial castle section during the first half of the 19th century, with Baron von Ledersteger-Falkenegg adding Renaissance elements in 1891.
The castle gardens contain a seven-meter sandstone obelisk monument dedicated to poet Moritz August von Thümmel and the tomb of Countess Adrienne Elisabeth von Corneillan.
The property, owned by the city of Coburg since 1941, currently operates as a kindergarten for the Evangelical Lutheran parish community.
The veranda, added in 1905, exhibits English Decorated Style architecture, while later additions incorporate traditional German timber-frame construction methods.
