St. Ewaldi, Catholic church in Aplerbeck district, Dortmund, Germany
St. Ewaldi church features a square layout with octagonal niches and modern windows designed by Wilhelm Buschulte depicting religious themes.
The original church from 1880 was replaced by the current structure in 1971 to accommodate the growing post-war Catholic population in Aplerbeck.
The church contains a 13th-century altar cross on loan from the Protestant community, representing interfaith cooperation in the Dortmund region.
Regular Catholic services take place in the main hall, while a dedicated chapel serves smaller congregations for weekday ceremonies.
The baptismal font, created by sculptor Toni Zenz in 1982, includes depictions of the Ewaldi brothers, two martyrs from the 7th century.
