Thalkirchner Brücke, Wooden truss bridge in Munich, Germany.
The Thalkirchner Bridge spans 197 meters across the Isar River with a width of 15.3 meters and features a wooden space frame design.
Built between 1989 and 1991, this bridge replaced an earlier wooden structure from 1904 that connected Munich with the newly incorporated district of Thalkirchen.
The bridge received the Vorarlberger Holzbau-Kunst award in 1992 for its innovative use of timber construction techniques in modern architecture.
Located near Thalkirchen U-Bahn station and the entrance to Hellabrunn Zoo, the bridge serves as the only crossing point for vehicles in this section.
The structure incorporates 520 cubic meters of spruce and larch wood, connected through steel nodes to create a robust transportation link.
