Flauchersteg

The Flauchersteg spans 340 meters across the Isar River, connecting the districts of Sendling and Thalkirchen with Untergiesing-Harlaching through a steel structure.

The bridge region received its name from Johann Flaucher, who established the Zum Flaucher inn in 1870, marking the beginning of this area's recreational development.

The Flaucher region functions as a central meeting point where residents practice the tradition of cooling beer crates in the river during summer gatherings.

Visitors can access the bridge via the U3 underground line to Brudermühlstraße station, with multiple hiking and cycling paths extending from both sides of the structure.

The bridge crosses over the Thalkirchner Überfälle, where the Isar River creates natural cascades with a 2.5-meter height difference.
