Femina-Palast, Heritage monument and hotel in Schöneberg, Germany.
Femina-Palast is a hotel and architectural monument built in the New Objectivity style, distinguished by horizontal lines, travertine stone facades, and curved bay windows at its corners. The four-story structure contains hotel rooms and event spaces spread across a substantial interior.
Built between 1928 and 1931 by architects Richard Bielenberg and Josef Moser, the structure was designed as a modern office and event venue. Its construction occurred during Berlin's period of rapid modernization in the interwar years.
The building served as an entertainment hub where people gathered for live music and dancing across different decades. The spaces still carry the memory of how social life and nightlife shaped the neighborhood.
The building is located on Nürnberger Straße in Schöneberg and is accessible by public transport. Note that event spaces may require advance notice or booking for access.
The original ballroom featured a hydraulic dance floor that could rise and lower, paired with a retractable glass roof for open-air events. Such mechanical systems represented cutting-edge technology for the early 1900s.
