Villa Gemmingen, Aristocratic residence in Stuttgart, Germany

Villa Gemmingen is a residence in Stuttgart that combines late baroque forms with a central rotunda hall. The building features extensive stone terraces that offer views across the city and surrounding landscape.

The villa was built between 1910 and 1911 following designs by architects Albert Eitel and Eugen Steigleder. It was commissioned by Baron Fritz von Gemmingen-Hornberg and his wife Dora Siegle to demonstrate their standing in Wurttemberg society.

The name references the Gemmingen family, who built this residence as a symbol of their social standing. Visitors can still observe the artistic details created by Josef Zeitler and Emil Epple throughout the interior spaces, reflecting the taste of that era.

The property is privately owned today and can only be viewed on special occasions or by prior arrangement with the current owner. Those interested in visiting should contact the owner in advance to arrange access.

The villa's original wooden elevator is no longer on site but is preserved and displayed at the Elevator Museum in Mannheim-Seckenheim. This detail reveals how technological innovations of the era were incorporated into such grand homes.
