Wildpark Schorfheide

Wildpark Schorfheide spreads across a large forest area with open enclosures where visitors can observe deer, wild boar, and other native animals in natural settings. A well-developed path network runs through different park sections and brings visitors close to the wildlife.

The forest was once reserved exclusively for nobility to hunt, and only later became accessible to the public. The park was established as a nature conservation project to display animals in their natural environment.

The park features multiple wolf viewing areas where visitors learn how these animals have returned to Brandenburg's forests in recent decades. Throughout the grounds, enclosures display other native species that once roamed this region naturally.

The park is open year-round but has different hours depending on the season, so checking before your visit is wise. Sturdy footwear is essential since paths wind through forest and over uneven ground.

The facility houses a significant breeding population of Przewalski horses, an extremely rare species that nearly went extinct. These animals represent a success story in wildlife reintroduction efforts.
