Water tower in Bad Zwischenahn, Water tower and observation point in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany
The 35-meter-tall reinforced concrete tower at Dränkweg 4 contains an elevated tank that holds 210 cubic meters of water for the town supply.
Hamburg architect Fritz Höger designed this tower, which was constructed between 1937 and 1938 using materials partially obtained from military services.
The building served multiple community functions, housing the tourist office from 1950 to 1971 and later the Bad Zwischenahner Woche association.
While the structure includes a viewing platform accessible by 180 steps, current structural conditions prevent visitors from climbing to the observation level.
The tower received illumination upgrades in 2009 with lighting installations on its north and south corners to increase its visibility during nighttime.
