The Hohe Ward Waterworks is a water intake facility featuring a twelve-sided rotunda constructed from brick and sandstone elements. The distinctive structure with its eleven large windows surrounding the entrance was originally designed for Münster's water supply and continues to be used for drinking water treatment today.
The facility was constructed in 1905 and began operations in 1906 to serve as the fifth pumping station for Münster's drinking water supply. Built under the direction of the Municipal Gas, Electricity and Water Works, it has shaped the city's infrastructure for over a century.
The building displays Art Nouveau architectural features and is protected as a monument today. Visitors can observe the craftsmanship of the brick walls and sandstone elements that were typical of industrial structures from this period.
