Liebfrauenkirche, Parish church in central Dortmund, Germany
The Liebfrauenkirche features a three-nave neo-gothic hall structure with a stepped choir and a 72-meter-tall square tower facing east.
The foundation stone was laid in June 1881, and the church was consecrated in December 1883 to serve the growing Catholic population of Dortmund.
The church windows contain figurative representations from the late 19th century, and the organ includes 42 registers built in 1950.
The church transformed into a columbarium in 2009, offering space for 5,000 urns with memorial plaques made of cast bronze.
The urn burial sites around the church columns are named after saints and individuals connected to the parish, city, and Archdiocese of Paderborn.
