Gesundheitsamt Dortmund

The Gesundheitsamt Dortmund is an administrative building standing 25 meters tall, characterized by bright interiors and natural light throughout its spaces. The structure features thoughtfully designed rooms with integrated art and houses office areas, a kindergarten, and dining facilities alongside its primary functions.

Architect Will Schwarz completed this administrative building in 1961 after three years of construction, marking a new era in post-war architecture. The project symbolized the reconstruction and modernization of Dortmund in the years following the Second World War.

The building displays typical elements of the 1950s with its two-part design, which continues to shape the appearance of the surrounding area. The architecture reflects the post-war reconstruction spirit and is perceived by visitors as a characteristic representative of this era.
