IWO-Hochhaus, Office building in Dortmund, Germany
The IWO-Hochhaus is a 19-story office building that rises 66 meters and features a modern glass facade in downtown Dortmund. Its structure provides multiple office spaces and work areas throughout the floors.
The foundation stone was laid in 1964 and the building opened in 1966 as a new office tower in the city. Its construction took place during a period when the city was rebuilding and expanding its economy.
The building stands as a symbol of postwar economic growth and shows how the city rebuilt itself as a modern business center. Walking through the downtown area, you can still sense this period of renewal in its architectural presence.
The building sits near the main train station and is easily reached by public transport. On foot, you will find parking options and additional transportation connections in the immediate area.
The building is named after its original developer IWO-Immobilien, whose company went bankrupt just before the project was completed. Despite this difficult start, it became a recognizable landmark in modern downtown Dortmund.
