Schloss Neuenburg

Schloss Neuenburg is a Renaissance castle in Zetel with four wings arranged around a central courtyard and decorated with ornate facades. The complex is surrounded by defensive walls that blend practical protection with architectural design.

Count Gerd of Oldenburg built the fortress in 1462 to defend against East Frisian attacks from neighboring regions. The structure later transformed from a military stronghold into a more comfortable noble residence.
