Schloss Neuenburg, Renaissance castle in Zetel, Germany
The four-winged castle features a symmetrical layout with a central courtyard, adorned by ornate Renaissance facades and defensive walls.
Count Gerd of Oldenburg constructed the initial fortress in 1462 as a defensive structure against the East Frisian forces.
The castle chapel, originally reserved for noble families, has served the local Neuenburg citizens as their primary place of worship for 150 years.
Visitors can schedule guided tours of the castle to explore its architectural features and learn about the regional noble families.
The castle's upper hall displays two chandeliers that are exact replicas of those owned by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria.
