Talbrücke Nuttlar

The Nuttlar Valley Bridge is a road bridge spanning a valley in Bestwig that carries A46 motorway traffic. The structure extends 660 meters and is supported by six cylindrical pillars rising to 115 meters in height.

Construction began in 2009 as a technical solution to the valley's challenging terrain. The project proved more complex than typical bridge work due to the steep slopes and specialized anchoring methods required.

The bridge connects two valley sides and forms a defining image for many drivers passing through the Sauerland region. It stands like a landmark in the landscape, showing how infrastructure and nature coexist in this area.

The bridge is part of the motorway and accessible only to vehicle traffic, not pedestrians or cyclists. You can view the structure from the roadside or from viewpoints in the surrounding area.

The structure required more than 3,600 rock anchors to remain stable in the steep terrain. These specialized anchoring techniques make it a notable engineering feat for the region.
