ZDF-Sendezentrum 1, Television broadcasting center in Lerchenberg, Germany
The ZDF broadcast center extends across one square kilometer and contains multiple studio buildings, administrative offices, and production facilities.
In 1964, ZDF purchased land on Lerchenberg hill from the city of Mainz to establish its main television broadcasting headquarters.
The center regularly produces television programs, including outdoor broadcasts of the ZDF-Fernsehgarten show, which accommodates 4000 visitors during live transmissions.
The broadcasting center offers guided tours on weekdays at 10:00, 12:30, and 15:00, allowing visitors to explore the television production facilities.
The facility consists of two separate complexes, with Sendezentrum 1 housing the main operations and Sendezentrum 2 accommodating partner channels 3sat and Arte.
